Frequently Asked Questions

There are many reasons why you may be having behavioural issues with your cats and here are some important questions that people often ask before embarking on their journey with me.

What types of behaviour problems can you help with?

I specialise in addressing various cat behaviour issues, including house soiling, aggression, excessive vocalisation, a new baby or pet in the home, compulsive disorders, obesity, and destructive behaviour in the home. My goal is to create a personalised plan just for you and your cat that gets to the root of the problem, helping you build a calm, enriched environment where you are both happy.

How will a behaviour consultation benefit my relationship with my cat?

Through a detailed consultation process that may include a full antecedence (history) of your cat, a bespoke questionnaire tailored to your particular issue, video tours of the environment, and a clinical History from your vet, I can decipher what welfare, environmental, and training needs to be implemented. I’ll help you understand your cat’s behaviour triggers and reactions. By implementing tailored strategies, you can enhance your cat’s comfort and well-being, which strengthens the bond and trust between you and your feline companion.

Do you offer solutions for cats that need more stimulation or enrichment?

Absolutely! Enrichment is key to preventing many behavioural issues, and the power of play should not be underrated. I provide practical advice on toys, activities, and environmental changes that mimic your cat's innate predatory desires to keep your cat mentally engaged and satisfied and reduce attention-seeking or destructive behaviors.

What results can I expect after working with you?

Many clients witness significant improvements in their cat’s behavior and overall happiness and well-being, as well as their own! They are often astounded at the impact that behaviour modification has on their day-to-day life with their cat/cats.

I’m committed to helping you create a harmonious home where you and your cat feel at ease. Please take a moment to read my reviews from happy clients.

Happy Cat = Happy Human

Are remote consultations an option and are they effective?

Yes, I offer remote consultations, which are often preferred because they allow your cat to stay relaxed in their home environment. Let me explain why this works so well - cats, unlike dogs, are very territorial, and another person in the home environment adds to any negative stimuli

Through my comprehensive assessment questions and remote video home tour, I don’t have to visit the home and have a negative impact

I conduct Zoom consultations around the world effectively in this way

I hope this helps you to understand the positive impact of remote behaviour modification plans when assessing and helping cats and cat parents

Do you take insurance claims for behaviour consultations?

I do, indeed! Most pet insurance providers cover behavioural consultations, though it's best to check your policy to see if you're covered. If you decide to use the VIP insurance plan, I will liaise with your insurance provider and provide documentation and receipts that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement if they cover behavior services.
